Kumara Parvatha also known as Pushpagiri trek is said to be one of the most difficult treks in Karnataka Western Ghats. One of the major reasons that makes it difficult is the distance of 21 kms from Kukke Shree Subrahmanya Temple to the Kumara Parvatha peak and returning midway towards Girigadde. At Weekend Thrill, we feel that doing 21 kms in a day with lots of exertion and not a lot of logistic support is not an effective way to summit the majestic Kumara Parvatha.
We choose to start the trek from Beedahalli APC, which is on the northern side of Coorg. This side of Kumara Parvatha is less known to the trekking fraternity of Bangalore. It poses an equal amount of challenge along with comforts when done with Team Weekend Thrill and its partners. This is a Bangalore weekend trek for all those who have been wanting to be on top of Kumara Parvatha for a long time.
Pick up from Bangalore at 22:15 Hrs and start 272 kms journey towards Somvarpet. Once everyone boards there will be a brief about the trek and then continue the journey. We advise trekkers to have light dinner before boarding the bus.
Overnight journey till homestay. Once you reach the homestay, freshen up and enjoy the local Karnataka breakfast served at the homestay. Start Kumara Parvatha Trek and reach the forest check post also known as Beedahalli APC. You can refill you water bottles here. Summit Kumara Parvatha and then start descending and reach homestay. A well-planned dinner and a wonderful campfire waits to welcome the hungry outdoor enthusiasts. Enjoy a hearty dinner sitting around the bonfire and then retire for the day.
Early morning hike to Malalli waterfalls which is around 2.5 kms from our homestay. Soon after breakfast, we start our onward journey to Bangalore and we usually initiate the drop offs after reaching Bangalore by 2100 hrs.
