Dandeli is a city in the Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka. Dandeli houses the second largest wildife sanctuary in Karnataka and it was announced to be a part of Project save the tiger in 2007. Here are a few places to visit in Dandeli.
Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary :
Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 834.16 sq km is home to the rare black panther, the spotted deer, barking deer and many others. Wild deciduous forests surround the wildlife sanctuary on all the sides. Coracle boat rides and trekking can also be enjoyed.
Kavala Caves :
Kavala caves are limestone stones. These caves along with their 375 entrances and the winding steps of the caves were formed due to volcanic activity.
Kulgi Nature Camp :
Situated at the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, this is a popular tourist accommodation site, providing a comfortable stay whilst exploring the wildlife sanctuary. This is also called as Dandeli nature camp.
River Rafting :
Neighboring the Kali River, Dandeli is known for river rafting and one must experience the thrill of river rafting in the pure waters of the Kali river. Dandeli river rafting provides an amazing experience.
Shiroli Peak :
Located within the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, this is the highest point in the Uttara Kannada region. It provides a splendid view of the Sahyadri Range, and is a good spot for trekkers and nature lovers.

The area also has a number of resorts and hotels that provide a variety of cuisines.
