Kodia Jungle:

Kodai Jungle is a paradise for photographers and nature lovers. It is an easy trek of say 5 to 6 km almost 1km from Kanatal en route Chamba. The trek amidst the thick cover of greenery affords an amazing view of a huge stretch of valleys and hills along with many natural springs on the course.

Located 33 km from Kanatal, this place needs no introduction. It is visited by thousands of visitors every year to enjoy the varied flora and fauna of the place.

New Tehri:

A site of Tehri Dam, New Tehri is the only well-planned town of the state. Planned during the construction of the dam, it today offers a sight of the massive dam with stagnant water and high mountains on all side. One can easily reach here via well-maintained roads.

Surkanda Devi Temple:

Situated near Dhanaulti, Surkanda Devi Temple is perched at an exhilarating altitude of 3030m above the sea level. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Sati and is approachable by an easy trek of about 2 km.

What to eat :

Kanatal is a small village still basically untouched by visitors in large term. So it is no wonder that one does not find any restaurants or eating joints outside the hotel or guest house. The in house restaurants, though, are well equipped and offer from Indian cuisine to Chinese and Continental.
