Coonoor, which is about 21 km from the hill town is the nearest Railhead. Ooty (29 km) and Mettupalayam (33 km) are also the other best options to reach Kotagiri by train.
By Road :
The city tends to have a good network of buses that connects almost the whole town, you may want to hire a cab for your journey if time is your constraint.

A beautiful sight to behold, Catherine Falls is 250 feet high waterfall flowing into the Kallar River. Located 8kms from Kotagiri on the main Mettupalayam Road, the fall is named after a wife of a coffee planter of Kotagiri.

A sight of pure splendour, Elk Falls is situated about 7kms from Kotagiri near Uyilathi Village on the main route to Mettupalayam. The surroundings of the falls are equally entrancing as the fall itself, with a European house lying near the spot glorifying the British architecture.

Considered to be a sacred hill, Rangasamy Hill houses a holy shrine devoted to Lord Rangasamy. Situated a distance of 20 km from Kotagiri and standing at a height of 1785 m above the sea level, the peak serves as a sacred place to Irulas Tribe.
