Nameri National Park

Nameri National Park is a national park in the foothills of the eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur District of Assam, India, which is about 35 km from Tezpur. Nameri is about 9 km from Chariduar, the nearest village. Nameri shares its northern boundary with the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh.
How to Reach Nameri National Park:
By Air: Tezpur airport, 37 km south of Nameri National Park, is the nearest which connects directly to Kolkata, Silchar and Guwahati. Tourist buses and taxis are easily available from the airport to reach Nameri.
By Rail: Rangapara Railhead which is 25 km south of Nameri National Park, is the nearest railway station.
By Road: Nameri National Park falls on the Bomdila Highway which connects Guwahati, Nameri and Tawang. It is well connected by a bus from Guwahati, Tezpur and Nagaon.
Nameri Wildlife Sanctuary :
The various species of animals including the tiger, leopard and elephants guarantee a great experience. The authorities provide jeeps or SUV?s to tour around the forest areas and especially to see the elephants.
