Chail is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh. It once served as the summer capital of His Highness Maharaja Adhiraj Bhupinder Singh of Patiala. Chail is situated at an altitude of – 2,250 m, higher than Shimla. Chail is pleasant in summer and cold in the winter. It is surrounded by a thick cover of majestic, soaring deodars. Shimla is just 45 kms away, and most significantly, the hill of Chail is higher than the Queen of Hills Shimla. With the majestic snow-capped Shivalik peaks in the background, Chail is sure a place for a perfect holiday destination. Overlooking Satluj Valley, Shimla, and Kasauli are also visible at night from here.
